Vercoope

VERCOOPE was founded by association of a group of Cooperative Wineries in 1964, belonging to the Demarcated Region of Vinhos Verdes. Its activity focuses on bottling and marketing the wines produced by its associates.

Vercoope is a union of seven Wine Cooperatives in the Vinho Verde Region: Amarante, Braga, Guimarães, Famalicão, Felgueiras, Paredes and Vale de Cambra. It was created in 1964 with the aim of bottling, marketing and distributing the wine produced by the winegrowers of these cooperatives. The union made it possible to combine the production of 4,000 winegrowers and launch it on the national and international market, achieving greater quality, size and competitiveness. The quality of the wines is recognized and proven by consumers, by sales and by the hundreds of awards won in wine competitions and the specialized press. Vercoope annually produces 8 million bottles of Vinho Verde, 30% of which for export.

Vercoope – União das Adegas Cooperativas da Região dos Vinhos Verdes, UCRL , is part of the Demarcated Region of Vinhos Verdes, considered the largest demarcated region in Portugal and one of the largest in the world, essentially due to its extension and the area of land dedicated to vine cultivation, to which a significant percentage of the population directly dependent on the wine sector and in particular Vinho Verde is added.

Vercoope is an entity dedicated to the bottling, marketing and distribution of Vinho Verde and integrates in its structure the cooperative wineries of Amarante, Braga, Guimarães, Famalicão, Felgueiras, Paredes and Vale de Cambra that represent, as a whole, wineries of around than 5000 winegrowers.

Located in Agrela, Santo-Tirso, in a modern and technologically advanced structure, both with technical and human resources, it has promoted, since its foundation in 1964, the development of the Vinho Verde culture, promoting its dissemination, its consumption and the valorization of the producer.

With more than half a century of activity defending a policy of quality and prestige for its wines, sparkling wines and spirits, it occupies, in its own right, a prominent place in the sector, being quite naturally considered a reference institution in the regional and national panorama.

Typical Alentejo blend with an hint of "Frenchiness"

An unusual blend of the Portuguese grape Aragonez with the more well known Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. A dark fruity wine with low acidity and smooth tanins. At a great price, it is quickly becoming my goto red wine.

Fresh and Dry. Perfect for hot days

The Verdegar is fruity with low acidity and a little sparkling. Excellent "green" for its price. It's a great wine for a pleasant summer day.
